Assistant Director of Admissions Operations

Reporting to the Director of Admissions Operations, and in collaboration with senior admissions leadership, the Assistant Director will support the undergraduate admissions and financial aid team in data management and analysis. The Assistant Director will help manage the admissions office’s primary data system – Technolutions Slate – and will work closely with admissions, financial aid, and Johnson Scholarship Program colleagues to implement recruitment and assessment activities in support of the university’s enrollment goals.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides day-to-day Slate support for admissions and financial aid colleagues
  • Develops shared query libraries, templates, reports, and dashboards for staff to track prospects, applicants, parents, and volunteers
  • Creates, designs, and manages reports to share with internal and external constituencies
  • Seeks opportunities to optimize Slate and leverage data to identify issues, questions, and new approaches in our recruitment activities
  • Maintains data integrity across all systems; monitors reports and processes for accuracy and efficiency
  • Collaborates with colleagues to enhance and standardize enrollment processes, ensuring alignment with admissions and university goals
  • Documents processes related to application management, systems, and reporting
  • Takes the lead on training new and veteran Slate users
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum qualifications

Bachelor’s degree is required and previous experience in an academic setting is preferred. Strong communication, organization, and writing abilities are expected. The ideal candidate will work as a part of a highly functioning team while maintaining a sense of creative self-direction.

Experience with Slate is strongly preferred; should be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite. Experience with reporting analysis, configurable joins, communication flows, and liquid markup is also highly valued.
